After reading some old threads regarding the map reading lights, I decided to convert them over to LEDs because I was nervous about the holders overheating and melting. I had spare 921 LED bulbs I bought for my lamps in the trailer. I have a spare overhead console I bought off some guy on Craigslist parting out a totalled Ex. I used the bulb holders and soldered the LED in place.
When I swapped out the bulbs in my Ex, I realized that the bulb holders were the ones that did not require soldering. I had replaced my overhead with one from an Expedition because my original one was missing the sunglasses holder door.
The plug and play sockets from the Expedition are marked Stanley while the soldered sockets from the Excursion are marked Wagner.
Now since I soldered the old Wagner sockets with the LEDs, I'll keep these if I go with brighter ones.
