Dern I guess action's speak louder then words!!! Very interesting article... Can't argue with fact.... Thanks
Here is a quote
"The test of the 14x3-inch air cleaner assembly is not in our test results since it made the same power as the baseline (with no air cleaner), which meant that the standard air cleaner assembly did not cost any power."
I also think that Test 3 K&N Flow Control air cleaner w/14x4-inch filter would be ideal just because your not running 5,500+RPM's all day long (take a close look at the #'s between test 3 & 4). If you where drag only and in it for the money, I would say "Ya, get the top" because every bit counts. But you will never notice it by your *** meter LOL! There is always NOS if you want some power for the money LOL JMHO
That's a different test than the one I remember. In the one I read they used a half dozen different sizes of K&N filters on the test motor (I don't recall the motor though) From the smallest which was marginally bigger than the top of a Hollley 4bbl (something like 4-5 inches in diameter, these are sold at most speed shops) to a 14" diameter with up to a 5" tall element. The smallest supplied all the air needed on that motor.

Like I said, read the specs on this engine. Because there are only a few of us that run cams like that or bigger out on the street! Me being on of those people.
I'll try to find the other article on the different size filters. But I think that might be a few years old now. Thats if I remember but don't quote me LOL
