Ok, my sister just got a 94 Ranger 4X4 with the 4.0L. It sits extremely un-level. Its pretty bad. What can be done to fix this problem? It doesnt have t-bars I guess from reading on here. Ive read that F-150 coils will work. Ive read that Bronco 2 coils will work. Ive read that leveling kits pretty much suck. So what should we do?
What work is required to do the F-150 coils? What parts are required for that too? Do we need new shocks for this? This seems like the best way to go i guess.
Does anybody make a coil kit for the Ranger to level it out? Or a good leveling kit that dont screw anything up.
Were putting 31x10.50s on it too so we have to do something. Please let me know what the best ways are.
haven't used them, but I have the same truck and would like to...My stock tires were p265 on 15" rims. I replaced them with 31x10.5 BFG without a lift and didn't have any trouble

looks great. i think that is what we'll do. ill let ya know how it goes. i think we'll need a spring compresser though right? that is exactly the kind of thing were lookin for. thanks.
from what I hear a spring compressor helps keep your head in one piece. My dad was in the ER with my little brother once and I guess there was a guy in there who had the spring hit him in the face and broke is jaw and eye socket in several places. Good luck and play it safe.
I have a 94 that used to sag in the front, I got front springs from advance Auto parts, $100 Called Extra Load Springs. And I also Have 31X10.50X15 Tires and truck sits just right now.
They were a little bit of work to replace.
If you want to see how it sits, it's in my gallery
you shouldn't need a spring compressor.just undo the springs and jack the truck up from the frame.thats how did my f-150 when i put a 6inch lift on it.

looks pretty good. them springs from rough country are just $110 with free shipping. so ill probably order those. then i dont have to do any more research. they do the same thing though. thats what we want. ours sits really low. its gonna be equipped with 31x10.50-15s soon. Cooper Discover STTs. With them springs and tires, it is gonna look sweet! ill post before and after pics when we do it.
No alignment needed, the tires have worn perfect for 2 years now ( about 20K Miles ), The springs were not to bad to do, you have to dicconnect the strutt arm from the cross member, disconnect the bottom of the shock, put a jack stand under the frame and let the front suspension hang, you may even have to pry it down a bit when ready to remove the old spring and even more when installing the new one.

The fun is removeing the nut inside the spring!
did you use a compressor tool? what other specialty tools are required if any? that doesnt sound too hard. why do you have to disconnect the strutt arm? if you had a compressor tool, wouldnt that compress it enough to just slide it out?
as for that bolt, we have some massive torque wrenches.
After replacing the front springs with leveling springs you WILL need an alignment. LOL your camber will be at least 2deg positive. I bought a set of skyjacker i did not need any special tools or compresors. took me about an hour a side.
A spring compressor is the 1 thing I don't have, besides I think it is alot safer without useing them if at all possible.
I didn't need an alignment, my tires sat perfect! and are wearing perfect. just remember to give your suspension a few days to settle before you make any other decisions.
I'm happy with the results I got for the money and time involved!
