The light came on on my 2004 F150 FX4 for the Electronic Throttle Control. The light was the wrench. I have the Edge Programmer on my truck and it says it is something with the throttle actuator, I can't remember the exact code. It said Forced Limited Power at the end also.
The light came on yesterday morning and after I turned it off and back on it went away, and then later that night it came on. I haven't drove the truck since.
I actually just purchased this truck so I'm hopeing nothing bad is wrong because the airbag light keeps coming on every once in a while also. I hope I didn't buy a lemon.
Yes it has been really cold. And I noticed that when that light came on, it felt like it was sticking a little, but then the throttle was fine and the truck drove just fine.
I know the first time, it came on after I had pulled out of the driveway and started down the road a little ways. The second time, it was right when I put the truck in drive and started to drive, I pushed the pedal and it kinda jumped, felt different than usual and that's when the light came on. So maybe it is freezing up.
I'm going to have my transmission fluid flushed next week sometime as sometimes when it downshifts, it shutters like you're running off the side of the interstate. I might just have them take a look at that too to see if it's anything major because my airbag light comes on a lot too. I just bought this truck, so I want to make sure nothing bad is wrong because I will get them to pay for it or else I will call the bank and cancel the check I wrote the dealership.
