I graduated in 87 then moved to Italy... Del do you remember the Cannon incident of 85? Somone set off black powder in the cannon in front of the legion building after towing it downtown..... behind a three wheeler... :-) the shock wave Broke a few windows (accidentally) My Aunt ran the place from sometime in the 80's until year before last.
I think we moved from Superior to Hays, KS in Jan. of '86 and I don't remember anything about a cannon or black powder. Did they ever find out who did it and has the statute of limitations run out? LOL
Soo... you say Black powder went off in 85... two years later you moved to Italy... are you sure it wasn't somehow connected?
I'm not saying :-) Don't know if they ever found out who was in charge of the whole cannon thing, (not that I would know) :-) I saved the artical out of the paper, just because it... um ... interested me... :-)
Got the engine all put back together and GUESS WHAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
It didn't start seems like the timing is still off a little and after scowering the net I have found that you need to set the cam timing mark to the left of the head timing mark with the crank being tdc . So maybe tonight I will take the valve cover off and to that. I also have to re set the distributor as I played with it trying to get her to start.
Here's one: My 2000 Grand Cherokee with the 4.7L has stuck lifters and a blown head gasket. A rebuilt long block is $3K and a used engine is almost as much. We really like it but I'm thinking it's time to move on. I've gone back and forth on this several times and I'm still chewing on it.
