Edge Programmer

Wanting to know how I can program my new Edge Evolution Programmer for optimal fuel economy and performance? I don't know how or what the perimeters are without messing the timing up or getting bad gas mileage. Would like the correct numbers to do this and any other helpful tips. I drive a 2004 F-150 XLT Screw 4X4. Currently have a 2 1/2" leveling kit installed, MAC performance air intake kit, running 285/70/R17 Bridgestone Revos. Also, having trouble figuring out the right calculations for that tire size in mm. Thanks for your help

Mike

to set for your tire size, you need to set it to 2610mm. if you want to set a custom tune, then it depends on which octane fuel you are using. level one and two are designed to run on 87 octane, and level 3 is designed for 91 or better. now, if you run higher octane than the 91, you can increase your timing by .5 degress for each octane higher than 91. of course, if you notice pinging or detonation, then you should bring it back until it disappears.

I have tried farting around with the timing settings and others on mt Edge and have found that the programmed settings on each level seem to work the best, but then again I havent installed my CAI yet either.

this may be true, but the setting that he was looking for is a calculation of:
1.) Multiply width x ratio x .02
2.) Multiply rim x 25.4
3.) Add steps 1 & 2
4.) Multiply step 3 x 3.1416

the result is the circumference in mm

this is what needs to be entered into the edge unit for it to correctly calculate the actual speed.

I would keep checking this thread for tuning suggestions. There are scores of folks out there with custom settings. I believe there some tumers who offer
a customized tunes for your specific vehicle.
