I know Spartan is the best. I have spent a lot of time researching programmers. I went to my local diesel performance shop and inquired about getting a Spartan Dashq installed with S&B intake and 4" single doc/dpf delete exhaust. He claims Spartan is expensive (can't deny) and mostly used for racing. He says he's installed quite a few Edge programmers in Superduty's before which guys like.
My questions are:
- How do the Edge Race evolutions work with aftermarket intake / exhaust?
- I have read from old posts that without a transmission learn feature they are hard on transmissions.
- Anything else I should know about Edge products?
I am still very much in favor of a Spartan, just need a little more info on Edge.

How much is your truck worth to you? You spent a lot of hard earned $$, don't go cheap (relatively) now. Spartan is used by many, including me, for every day driving. Certainly less expensive units out there, but if your going to mod your truck & void you warranty, why not do it right? Get the best you can afford. You get what you pay for is this instance...... Just my 2 cents of course. Good luck with what ever programmer you go with.
i got my superduty new, put the edge on week 2, new intake week6, and just installed a mbrp exaust, milage up 2 mpg over stock , way more power than you can use and i did it pretty cheap, 22,000 miles so far all on edge programmer, few and short dpf re gen, works well. tranny is still nice and smooth too

So your running the Edge with the DPF still on the truck?
I personally do not like Edge tuners. Bought one, was LIED TO by the sales staff and technical support team, also the Edge does not tune the trans which can lead to problems down the road.
Especially when you consider the cost of the Edge race evolution. Could be money better spent on a tuner that is a little better use of your money.
