programmer for my 07'
I just bought an 07' 4x4 supercab with the 5.4. It has the 3.73 gear in it. I'm installing an Auto Spring 2" leveling kit and a set of 285x70xR17's. I was going to also get a programmer to reset speedo,but do the programmers really help the preformance and mileage? Is Edge the most prefered programmer? Is the install easy and look factory?

Well congradulations. I have a 04 and I got a SCT x3 programmer from Mike from 5startunning. He is a member here. Performance wise yes it wakes the truck up. Mileage it may help it a mile maybe 2 and thats a big maybe. The extra power is nice. Some people like edge but that comes with canned tunes which are ok. My SCT has custom tunes where they have been dyno tested and will be able to give you the most power. You can get the gryphon which is an edge but with custom tunes.
I highly recommend the SCT with custom tunes. I have 87 economy, 91 performance, and 91 tow. Mike has the best customer service I have ever seen. You email him and in the matter of minutes he has a response. Also people have said you call him and you get right to him. I never had to call but I have emailed and was very pleased with his service. But what ever way you go let us know. Post some pics of the truck with the mods. Cant wait to see it

The Edge is okay but if I was going to go that route I'd order the Gryphon from Bill at Powerhungry performance. Bill used to work with Edge and started his own company. He will do custom tunes instead of the canned tunes like mentioned above.

I am extremely pleased with my SCT X3 programmer from 5 STAR TUNING. It shifts incredibly, more power, and my fuel mileage in town went from 13 mpg to over 15. All that is just on the economy 87 octane setting. I still have performance and towing modes. Talk to Mike at 5 Star Tuning...you cant go wrong with the product or great customer service to back it up.
