went to the track

well my predictions were pretty darn close. the best i could get out of the old girl was a 17.0 at 80 mph. shes got 15's in her as it sits but i cant afford to have down time when it breaks......... i could not get it to launch to save my life, the track conditions were horrible. it hooks ok on the street but blows the tires off at the track........over 3 second 60 ft times.....hahahahahaha! i was only building it up to 1200 to launch and it was sideways off the line. i got a 2.8 the one time and when it hooked (launched from an idle and still spun sideways) i heard a very very loud bang and it lifted the rear roughly 7-8 inches. (horrible axle wrap) i let off abruptly and then rolled back into it and that was my 17.0 run. i parked the truck after that and went right to the exhaust pipe......known problem..... the spring packs twisted so bad that when they hit the tailpipe they actually took a large chunk out of the tailpipe this time....hmmm.... no more of that. i cant launch the truck without traction bars. i will go get a pic of the missing metal here in a few

dont know, mine is also running 35 inch tires, and it has the potential for so much more if it would have hooked. i couldnt even launch from a dead idle, just flooring it blew the tires off.

you know, i did get a ton of laughs when i pulled into the staging lanes. the big long truck pulled up to race and it was muddy and filthy and filled with junk. granted it didnt turn out to be fast but it left the line impressivly, either blew the tires off or lifted horrificly that one time, after that everybody wanted to ask questions and get a look......lol. especially when it hooked and lifted then i let off the throttle and the lovely turbo blow off noise came out! i wish i could have seen their faces

the superchip isnt all that impressive, it is rated at 80 horse but i would give it 60? you know when its installed but its nothing to write home about. i only bought it because it was a great price on a used unit from ebay, on a normal road i cant get sideways like i did there unless its a wet road. i can however bark second and third on dry pavement.

why didn't you throw 'er into 4 wheel drive? if you would have used 4 wheel drive then you would have hooked and gotten a much better time.

you would still put down a better time b/c you wouldn't be roasting the tires away at the line for 3 seconds. what's wrong with your transfer case?

i think your transfer case needs new gears or something. idk much about that kind of stuff so i'm not much help. guess you need to get a transfer case rebuild. you gonna come up with a coonhunterJoe transfer case mod too? lol

no c00nhunterjoe specials on that one, no down time allowed for a rebuild, i am going to get a junkyard unit. truck cant be down for any breaks, i can change the whole case in about an hour, a rebuild will be much more costly and time consuming then swapping it out

If you're going to get a junkyard unit, why not rebuild that just to make sure? That way, your truck is still roadworthy; you get a fresh T-Case; and the swap time is still the same.
