performance upgrade carbed 351/ e85

anybody have some good ideas on my rebuild? the engine is a windsor in an f250 4x4 zf5spd reg cab. i just want a peppy work truck, with better economy it will also be an e85 motor. i am debating a 393 stroker but i'm sure the heads wont keep up, and i do not want to get into aftermarket heads. so the next option is a stock displacement with the edelbrock performer power pack. the cam is matched too the intake and will pull up to 5500 rpm, then throw the edelbrock e85 carb on it., to take advantage of the e85 i need to up the compression, so i will need some kind of piston to yeild 10-12:1 comp. any recommendations on a piston? anybody else use the edelbrock kit? a buddy has it in an early bronco and says it is great! thanks for the input. a buddy of mine had the performer kit on a 400 and it gave incredible bottom end torque and still good drivability. i would look into something like that.

I just put an edelbrock 1405 carb, performer intake and performer plus cam on my 302 and it really made a big difference in low end torque. It was well worth the cost and I would recommend it to anyone.
