Battery Light

hey guys was just wondering if anyone new what may be causing this stupid thing to come on I know it isnt the batterys for sure and possibilitys on what may be causing it it goes on when you are just idaling and goes off when you rev it up

Bad alternator.. I would have it checked.

What vehicle? How old? Light on at idle and going out with increase in rpm usually means altenator.....

You've lost one or more diodes in your alternator. At idle, the remaining diodes cannot put out enough voltage and current to keep the battery charged, which is why you see the battery light.

is it possible to just change the diodes or do you have to go with a new alternator

They do sell a diode bridge but the hassle itsn't worth it. get a new alt.

well now we r curious on something with it we thought it was the alternator but now wen you just open the hood it will sometimes shut off or if you wiggle a wire s0o we are second guessing but i think it may be just a fluke for it to shut off

Another thing to always check if you're having a charging issue is the battery and starter cable connections. Make sure they're all good, clean, and tight. If there's a lot of corrosion built up, that can drop your current a bit, and a loose connection can cause intermittent problems.
