My ABS light stays on constantly in my 95 Bronco. Is there a way to retreive these codes like the check engine light?
I've got a bad shudder throughout the truck while braking.
New rotors(also turned), ceramic pads(new), bearings and seals all good, radius arm bushings(replaced), balljoints(replaced), and tires(10,000 miles balanced).
This is a plow truck for my business and is stored for most of the time during the summers. No, I have not done the rear brakes as of yet. The light started coming on intermitently about two years ago, and is now on constantly as soon as you start the truck.
I'm going to check the VSS tomorrow and maybe pickup a new one of those. If I could maybe read the codes, I would have a better guess as to what the problem is. I don't believe that the ABS is even functioning right now. I guess since the light is on, that's kind of a given.
There u go i did it for ya. this site will tell u wut to do. Its fairly simple. Does your truck have an OBD2? I think they put em in 96 and above but i noticed you have MAF. Heres the site and check it out. http://www.fordfuelinjection.com/
I pulled the codes, jumpered the orange/black wire and black wires. I got codes (2) and (5). Any idea what these mean or where I can find the definition of the codes?
I have an '88 full size, don't know if it has similarities. I had same problem with the monkey light on the dash. Intermittent at first and then it stayed on. Although my brakes were in good shape and I had no braking problems. I could stand on them at 50 and the ABS worked fine, I checked.
I have an ABS sensor mounted on the top of the rear axle housing. Replaced that, problem gone. Just maybe, hope I could help.
