ABS comes on after release brake pedal at startup
2002 4.2L V6 2WD Manual Transmission
ABS light has been on.
Replaced the rear ABS sensor and the Snap-On guy cleared the code before reading it for me.
Started the vehicle and it was off... He left.
Moved the vehicle and it came back on. Shut off vehicle. Hold clutch & brake pedals down. Start vehicle.
No ABS light on!
Light up on brake pedal and ABS light comes on...
Checked fuses, all good. Vehicle is not moving, so it doesn't seem like a sensor (could obviously still be though), and I added brake fluid just in case...
I am hoping some of you gurus on here may have came across this and could lead me in the correct direction.
Thank you in advance!

Okay, checked resistance on the sensors and Driver's side has about 2.3k.
Passenger side never moved... I'm assuming that means that it is in fact shorted out and bad since there is no resistance, but it maybe a wire break, since the digital screen doesn't move to zero like it does when you touch the tips of the probes...
Suggestions on whether I am doing this correctly!?!

No redsly, your post is not in vane. I had the same thing 2 weeks ago. YOU think at startup the computer runs a continuity test, the light goes out, so the pickups are not a problem. THen a few seconds later the light comes on. If your moving, its a dead givaway, if your not, YOUR STUCK... I also had a bad pickup (drivers side) and i measured the continuity and it was o.k...."sometimes".. So you can have an eratic probe.
