CCV oil Trap

Well I finally snapped some pictures of my CCV oil seperator that has been on my truck for a long while now. It works well. I have described it in the webshots so if you have questions ask em but I won't retype everything I have there.

Looked like more was comming out of it then it was trapping. hahahaha
=)
I even got to rag on him in person about it.

The coolest thing about this mod though, that I can say is, when you see it, you don't know what it is. So you think its some hardcore performance thing. You could even talk this thing up to a moron, and he would bite every word of it. It looks really natural.
Cept for the oil seeping out of the non sealed joints.
Did you fix that yet tim?

Yeah I silicone the joints a month ago or so. No more seeping!

Fuelman yes its not much oil but there was plenty (less than a cup) in there after a few months. I took it all apart and cleaned it and it was pretty nasty! hard to beleive all that stuff could just be going thru your turbo and into your engine!!

They seamed to be fine. The copper coated pads did seem to lose some of the copper coating was to the steel but they looked good.

Why can't you use a fitting from an old carburated PCV fitting,, I think they are plastic....

Can you also rig it ,(filtered of course) to put the oil back in the CC at a certain level?....

The inlet is on the bottom.
Has it filled with oil above the inlet?

I am not really sure at this point. it was pretty full (up to the inlet) when i pulled it apart but I couldn't check it closely since I had to move it around alot ot get it out. I think its close to being up hill of the valve cover so I think it might drain back if it was that full. I will look at my routing closer when I get a chance and see what would happen.

The thought was it could build CC pressure if it didnot drain back.

Yeah I check for that with the cap off the fill tube every now and then just to make sure it still good. I need to get a bracket built for it so I can drain it easier. maybe even a hose run down below the truck. Finally did that with my fuel filter drain and its really nice not to have fuel all over the front crossmember

I would be too but it smells too much and too much vapor for my liking. Mine might still get plumbing into the exhuast one of these days.
