Boost PSI

I have a 1994 7.3 DI F350 and I would like to check the boost pressure but I can not get any specs on PSI. Dose anyone know what the pressuer should be? Should it stay the same or rise with RPM? Thanks........

Stock you should see about 18psi. Boost numbers change all the time due to many variables i.e., load, heat, fuel, etc.,

Yes peak boost should be 15 psi plus or minus. To measure you need a boost pressure gauge whether its just to test or a permanent install. Find a nice piece of road that you can safely go 70 or so. The bigger the hill the better. Then start out and just floor the throttle. Keep it floored till you run out of road. but keep your eyes on your gauge.

oh yeah even better and would use less road is hook up to a heavy trailer or load the back end full of something really heavy. That will help get the boost up faster.

I know from experience.. have the driver keep his eyes on the gauges... especially the egts and have the passenger look down the road.. haha.. its unbelieveable how hard it is to look at the gauges and the road at the same time when your goosing it.

My 96 PSD peaked out at 22 PSI untill I put a pressure relief valve in the MAP Sensor line. Now I can get 30 PSI boost.

What do you have yours set at tim? Is that a pressure relief valve or just a pressure regulator. I thought a regulator is what we need to use.
