Question, where are you guys taping for the sensor for the egt pyrometer? It looks like mine was installed on the down pipe. Is that correct? Thanks
Not really, as post turbo temps can vary as much as 400F from pre-turbo temps and it is not linear.
Pre-turbo temps are important to monitor for safe engine operations while driving. Post-turbo temps are really only useful for shut down of the engine by allowing you to monitor when the post-turbo temps have reached 350F, thus allowing the turbo to properly cool off before shut down.
If you do not want to move the EGT probe, then add 400F to all your indicated temps and drive accordingly, ie do not exceed 850-900F on your gauge.
