Dashdaq

I'm curious to know if anyone on here has bought the new dashdaq yet. I read in earlier posts that it was going to be awesome and I think it came out a couple of weeks ago but noone has mentioned it lately. I read that Matt was getting them and maybe package it with an Xcal3. Any new info on this would be great like: pyrometer and gps capability, ease of use, pricing etc.

does this unit eliminate the need to drill and tap the manifold for the pyrometer? I really want gauges but I am nervous about doing the install....

I think unless the factory puts egt sensors on these trucks and your able to read them from the OBDII port(which to my knowledge they don't not even on the new 6.4s), your going to have to drill and tap your manifold in order to get the egt readings. It really isn't a big deal to do it, I was nervous the first time I did it, but it isn't as bad as you would think.

Yeah, that's what I thought. Thanks for the reply Tex25025. I guess I'm gonna need to stop being a wimp and just do it....

It's really not that bad. Just make sure you use a good dril bit and keep your drill speed down. Test your skills by drilling a piece of scrap pipe, tap it, and test fit the probe.

Thanks, this is what i was looking for. Did you get a chance to really at it and see some of the features? I had an edge for a week, and after reading all the horror stories I took it out and I really miss the gauges and the power. Oh well I know that once I get it, it will be INSANE!!!!!!!

Yes, got to check it out pretty well. He had it set (you can really customize the display) as one large "analog-looking" guage-dial in the center w/ two smaller "guages" (one on either side) to the side. Nice display quality and the parameters you will be able to monitor will be awesome.

Guys, I will post some pictures up for you this afternoon.

I bugged DrewTech enough to where they finally sent me a beta test unit We still have not seen our main shipment of them yet, but they were honest with me in saying that the software wasn't quite yet ready to send out. I'm pretty sure it won't be long. (BTW, noone who has pre-ordered will be billed until I ship them from here.)

Excellent, excellent unit though. I tested the unit in my 2008 F350 and a 2005 6.0 and it works exceptionally well for both powertrains.

Question, where are you guys taping for the sensor for the egt pyrometer? It looks like mine was installed on the down pipe. Is that correct? Thanks
