I know Matt has already shipped out his first set of these. Has anyone used theirs yet? Any pictures of it installed? I ordered mine today and can't wait to get it in.
I contacted DashDaq and asked a few questions. Here are the questions and answers:
I will be installing add-on sensors for increased accuracy on the following: 1. Fuel Pressure 2. Transmission temperature 3. Oil temperature 4. Oil pressure (we only have a switch) 5. EGR – pre-turbo 6. EGR post-turbo
Also I want to read the following from the truck (2006 F250 6.0L) computer:
1. Boost 2. Coolant temperature
Q. Does DashDaq do this?
A. Can do!
Q. Can I add on the 6 listed sensors to the DashDaq, all being read at the same time with the two system parameters?
A. You sure can. Visit www.innovatemotorsports.com. These guys make data collection boxes that allow you to attach up to 32 sensors to any vehicle. Those sensors are digitized in their box, sent digitally to DashDAQ, and can displayed how you want it. Oh yeah... while you are watching those parameters, you can watch everything on OBDII as well.
Q. Can I set it up where the main screen shows all 8 parameters above (w/ preset alarm points configured)?
A. Sure can. We have one gauge layout that allows up to 24! With DashDAQs multiple gauge layouts, you can have your data displayed in many views that you switch as you see fit. The gauges can be configured to show you a high warning when it gets to a certain point you specify.
Q. Do you have recommendations for the types of add-on sensors (i.e. a parts list) for the most reliable compatibility w/ the DashDaq?
They're going to be sweet. A forum on another site had a guy running the 1st one from Eric at Innovative and he was real happy w/ the overall size, appearance and performance of his so far.
Bismic, I got an email similar to this. Did you checkout the data collection box from innovatemotorsports.com. It's not cheap. I really want mine to come in an see it in action. It's probably going to take a couple hours to figure out how to work it.

I did look over the data collection boxes from innovatemotorsports.com. The 4 input box was reasonably priced I guess ($130 or so). I was hoping they had a 6 input collection box - I guess I will email them. Looking at all the links the DashDaq rep supplied, it looks like we could do practically anything we want w/ these units!! I am definitely going w/ the DashDaq when the $$'s get saved up. They are on the expensive side, but very versatile. I seem to remember seeing that they are a code reader also - I guess I will verify this on their web site. Rolling all this together, and it is pretty reasonable.
(verified it is a DTC reader and will clear codes. Also - the GPS upgrade will be nice!)

Do you have a link to the post? Looks interesting.
Man people are biased in the truck world. Not just brand but tuners and motors and just about anything really. I was not expecting that when I began reading the post. I can't believe how in love everyone is with Eric at Innovative and how much they dislike Matt. I have never heard anyone on here bad mouth Eric.

I didn't even think about it being a code reader which will be really nice considering how horrible the SCT is at reading codes. The gps software is another main reason I am going with this over anything else. It is going to get expensive quick with all the add-ons it is going to require (egt, fuel pressure, etc.)

I'm going to stick with FTE
To be fair, most of the posts I've seen on the ORG, w/ any mention of Matt or Spartan, have not been negative towards him. Its usually more of an issue of ORG members vs a Spartan customer. I try to be cordial on every board I visit and I've been treated fairly over on the ORG. Yes, they are partial to Eric/Innovative and DJ but they are both sponsors over there and good tuners so its only natural I suppose. Besides, we do send "lots of love" Matts way over here! Its no secret I'm a Spartan-guy but Matt speaks highly of these other tuners so I have no reason to doubt them. The way I see it, there are plenty of 6.0's to go around for all these guys to tune.
