ok came across a 77 crew cab 2wd 400/auto? the asking price is 900 with no bed he said the only rust is on drivers floor about baseball size hole. been sitting for 2 years he said it yard drives. this is going to be a project truck i plan on installing 4bta 5spd 300 horse power. so is that a fair price for solid body truck?
I am hoping that 4bta is a 4bigtimea-skickin60, the price on these varies by area, in the northern rustbelt, a clean no-ruster is a dream come true and fetches the according price, I would check it over, if it runs and you have a bed for it, offer him 6 bills,,, I bought a 79 F-350 4x reg. cab with a junk rear d70 for 6 bills, and it had absolutely no rust, so it depends,,,,

4th digit in the VIN is the engine code: H = 351M / S = 400. The trans is a C6 either way.
thanks for the reply . i am building this for a work truck ,it will have a (hopefully)aluminum flat bed 12-16ft and most of the time it only has 1000lbs of tools so the cummins 4 would get great mileage as i drive 300-500miles a day.plus it will run on homebrew bio diesel
i'd like to buy a crew with my 2nd child on the way in june.but i've not seen any good deals. if that one is in good shape its probably worth the price. but do your homework and check it out yourself. i bought my truck from ebay and got burned, big time.

Heh, I am not sure they would accept a child as payment for a rig. What did you buy, and how did you get burned? Pics?
