I know I know I forgot to take pics but will describe the truck I looked at yesterday.
It is a 1976 F350 2wd crew cab long bed. I am trying to get it bought for $1500. The way he sees it I am buying the cab & the rest is bonus parts but I tend not to value any cab for $1500 but is it a reasonable price for one of these. It is an AZ truck so no rust anywhere still has original paint still in good shape on the cab. All the doors are good as is the upper trim (in the dent with the rubber) it also has the trim on the very bottom and it was pretty good as well. Seats are AZ dried out but rebuildable dash pad is cracked to heck but the door panels looked good (for az anyway) Really only looked hard at the rear ones.
So in summation do you all think this cab Ranger XLT (by the way) is worth the $1500
the truck is complete 460, AT, PS, PB, AC. The motor is said to run good but smokes at start up grill shell fenders & bed are rough .

jump on it crewcabs are hard to come by an its a 350 long bed. I got a 74 250 shortbed an paid $1000 for it 360 MT an its a Custom no A/C & manual steering.
John,
If you are at all serious about getting a crew cab you better jump on that one for $1500. If you don't want it please post the sellers information as I am sure someone on this forum will pick it up.
Good luck.
I told the guy yesterday I would take it but wanted him to put a carb on it so I could see how it runs & such. He said he would do it but not shure when as he said he was selling the cab & the rest was free.
I will post up pics when I get it
John
Oh my god, around here people would be diving on that.... I would at least.
I've never seen anything rust free up here first of all, I've seen a COUPLE crew cabs in person or on craigslist, but a running truck for 1500 bucks!?!
It is suposedly running. that is why I was questioning the value of the cab itself incase he takes to long with other stuff & I have to buy it non running

I've seen guys asking $1500 for cabs. I would not pay that as around here they all are pretty much rust free and I know that others ARE out there - you just have to be a little patient and look.
Then again a pretty complete, rust free crew for $1500 is a decent deal. Heck, as others have mentioned in the rust belt it would be a $6k truck!
Ah, John, see what you're saying. Even the frame and everything else on the truck though ups that value. Although, guess that could be another one of those rust belt things, junkyards down by you guys could be full of frames?

Yea that is a rust belt thing. Out here we can still remove leafsprings with just ratchet & wrench This is a pic of the underside of a bronco I just sent to MI
I am planning on getting it asap but probably be a few weeks.

Oh my god..... I'm looking at the sharp edge on that bracket right in the lower left corner. I've just never seen that, that's just not how it is. There is no such thing as that gap you see between that bracket and the frame around here. Any seams are just stuffed with rust flakes.
We don't need to use a wrench for the leafsprings though! They crumble in your hand.....
