just read codes and i have egr flow insuficient and misfire cylinder 7 and 4. I traed thewires back to the coil pck and those two wires are on the same coil pack. Wonder if the coil pack is going bad???
I cleaned the egr ports and now the egr flow excessive is gone. wtf???
I switched the coil pack from one side to the other. if the codes jump to diffrent sylinders then i have a bad coil pack. it's amazing that all this happened at once.
If you are getting vacuum to the EGR at cold idle, then that is why you are still getting excessive EGR flow codes.
The running worse now is because with the ports clean, even more exhaust gas is passing through the intake than ever before, and at the wrong time.
This is probably causing the miss codes also.
The EGR solenoid sounds like it is bad.
As stated earlier, pull the vacuum line off the EGR. Plug this line. Find a way to apply vacuum to the EGR when you need it, even if you have to tee off of another vacuum line.
With the engine idling, apply vacuum to the EGR valve. If there is no change, then the EGR is probably bad also.
If you are using vacuum tapped from another source on your engine, keep the line capped until you hook it to the EGR to keep the engine from running lean and altering the test.
