I just got a 390 out of a wrecked 68' Torino GT, has been freshley rebuilt and so on. Im looking to get an aluminum 4bbl intake for it, but since its an interesting engine i want to do something different than just put an Edelbrock or Holley intake, are there any other companies that make a 4bbl performance intake for the FE's? Engine is going in my 78' F150 Stepside 4X4 and I want to build it for torque rather than high-end horsepower. Are there any aftermarket companies that make heads for it as well, other than Edelbrock of course?
Normally, I would counter with the statement "I am sure he would ask there, but would never get an answer" but in the case of that forum, folks actually visit and answer questions.
I've done a bit of reading, looks like the best to find is the old streetmaster, and do some porting on it. Do a search on google, post in the FE forum, and look on ebay for it, and your heads.
You could always find someone who has three or four S code cast iron intakes and talk them out of one...........
Maybe smooth and polish it, then paint it aluminum
