My 61 FE 390 with an Edelbrock performance 390 intake and Edelbrock 4 bbl is running rough under load and when it reaches 100 degrees outside. I have changed the plugs, wires, coil, distributor cap, it has a pentex ignition, fuel filter. I have had it for about 3 months and I think it sat for a while. The next thing I was going to try was to clean and rebuild the carb. Any other suggestions would be appreciated.

Definitely do a carb clean/rebuild. I had an issue on mine where it wouldn't run when warm and choke would allow it to work. Check your fuel tank for any buildup since it sat. Also, is your vacuum advance working?
Does it run rough under load only when hot or or cold? Both?
Could be vapor lock - when it happens, remove the air cleaner - if a cloud of gas vapor rises out of the carb, well Check that fuel filter I see in the pic, does it still have liquid gas in it, and it's not all foggy?
Is it "under load AND 100 degrees out" or "under load OR 100 degrees out" ?
It is both and it has liquid fuel in that glass filter. I put an electric fan on it so it hasn't been going over 200 degrees on my gauge. I thought vapor lock as well however, I don't think that is the problem. I was told the motor had been rebuilt about 10,000 miles ago however I have been hearing a lot of valve tap on the passenger side so I was thinking of going and adjusting them when it cools down below 95 degrees again. It has just been to hot for me.
Looks like we might have found a winner I found a lot of junk in the carburetor and cleaned it out just waiting for an opportunity to test it out and make some adjustments. Thanks for the help guys.ðŸ‘
