our mods seem to be pretty much the same jhand, can you light them up from a stop with no brake
My truck is pretty loaded, 8500# gross or more it just hooks up and takes off. I'm a little afraid of breaking drive train, with all the extra weight. I get the one wheel on a turn, way to easy.
Jody has told me with the early 99.. the 120 tune takes about all the fuel the HPOP and injectors can handle ..if you are going to do the injectors later you will have to return the chip for re tuning any ways..because you will need to change the ICM and I think the PCM any ways...i get a lot of smoke in my 120 race..but i think jody can do the smoke in that tune as well as the 140...best bet is talk to jody..after the intank mod i got a little more power..now the 80 is unstopable and i flatten out in the 120 race when i get to the high side of the RPM's

I will say on my early 1999 dually i have stock, hi idle, 80 eco, 80 tow, 120, 140 setting and OVERALL the truck feels faster with the 80 eco setting, on the 120 and 140 setting the truck will at first move out faster with ALOT more black smoke, but it noses over around 1900-2000 rpm's..Iam guessing with the higher hp setting the HPOP can't handle it. No check eng lights just seems slower.
Dont get me wrong you will love there tuner and iam not sure if you did this yet but do your trans a favor and get the BTS valve body. If you do get the BTS valve body then DP has to set the chip up for the new VB also.
good luck
Erik
i just had my trans rebuilt about 2,000 miles ago from a shop about an hour away that does all the guys that do truck pulls around here
the valve body is modified and it shifts nice and firm and there area couple extra clutch packs, TC is a stock reman built up a little, etc. etc. so i think the tranny is fine
yes I did..last weekend..every thing went great with out a hitch..marked where the ring came off and when it went back in I turned it to the same mark and no leak..truck is a lot quitter..I have more power in the 80 and less black smoke..now she falls on her face half way though my 120 race rather then on top of the 80econo..I regret waiting so long to do this now...had the kit for almost a year i need a 17* HPOP now..wish i was ritch man lol how are things going over there???
Sorry -- couldn't get back in here yesterday. Things got kind of busy around here... Things are well here so far (at least, as good as they can be in field conditions!!). Glad you got to your in-tank mods, and that you can confirm what I saw/heard. There's no doubt that it's absolutely required!! Anyone out there reading this, DO THE HUTCH/HARPOON ASAP!! Especially when you have lots of other mods -- and it definitely helps with the heavy fueling called for by Jody's tunes.

Glad to see you're doing ok. Hurry back, things on FTE are kind of tame without you starting arguments with me!

Hy-Gene (something a lot of folks are lacking around here!!). Thanks -- looking forward to getting back to the States. Nothing like a trip over here to make one realize how good we have it.
EDIT: BTW, what the heck are you doing up?? It's ~lunch time here, but we're 7-10 hours ahead of you here, depending where you are...

ok-izzy and ronspowerstroke-how difficult were the in-tank mods to do...i remember you did them like last weekend ron. What exactly is involved and what do I need. Lastly, what are the actual benefits

my DP comes in tomorrow ... REAL STOKED
I'll put it this way -- it was a lot easier than I was thinking. Get the kit from ITP. I got mine without the pre-pump filter and put in a clear gas filter so I can see how it's doing, but you can do it with the filter if you prefer. The benefits are great!! The stock setup lets air into the compression fittings on the top of the tank and pump inlet, as well as at the mixing chamber in two ways. The return (which will be full of air) is fed right back into the mixing chamber where it's sent back to through the pump and engine. Secondly, when the fuel level gets below about 1/4 tank, it can suck even more air through the aux pick-up which is there in case the main pickup foot gets plugged. Pretty much worthless. The injectors are much happier after the mod, quieter, and I think use less oil because they're not trying to pressurize air-impregnated fuel. You also want to do the Harpoon mod, which is just cutting the extra long fill & vent tube off inside the tank. This makes it WAY faster when filling up to get your tank filled completely.
