Jody cautioned me on 140Smoke tune because of my stock sticks and I don't think I would have used it much anyway I get plenty of horses and smoke from my 120Race tune which I rarely use. I do want to add 80Tow to my arsenal for towing my boat.

I love my 140 smoke tune. I have a stock 2003 HPOP and he didn't mention any caution regarding getting it. I don't run around in it, I get plenty of smoke from the 80 and 120 really. It's just when I want that extra black thick soot and I have time to plan it, that I switch to 140, smoke the ricer, then switch back to 80 E.

1200 seems fine. Do you live in an area that gets super cold? I don't have cold wheater where I live so the high idle is kinda useless.

Keep in mind that the tuner with those programs will be more than $398.

Enjoy! I just changed to DP yesterday and I love it. My Edge Evolution went bye bye.
It was my understanding that the high idle was for warm areas maximizing AC, or if you run big inverters or other non stock accesories. The truck will go into high idle at certain low temp. I live in MN and my truck goes into high idle all on its own when it is cold and I don't idle alot with the AC on so I choose not to get it. Although it is an inexpensive file.

I also didn't get the 140s, because Jody told me that with out supporting mods like HPOP, injectors, fuel I might actually lose power from 120r to 140s, so untill I do those mods I saved a little money.

You will love the DP tuner

I used the high idle this last weekend. Had to jump a chevy that was dead to the world. Hooked the jumpers up and hit high idle in a couple mins his toy started right up. He asked, HOW DID YOU DO THAT, I told him to get a ford then he can do it too. lol

I think you will have to Jody redo the chip after those mods any way, so you might want to wait on the 140s

I'm sure these guys are right, the 140 smoke won't do you any good... But if you plan to do more upgrades than save yourself the cost of shipping the tuner back.

How pissed are you gonna be when you have to pull your chip out, run stock for a week, and wait for the programmer to come back.

If $45 isn't a big deal to you, spend it.

I'm sure the lope idle isn't useful either but I'm bummed I didn't ask for that too. It's the curious mind that keeps you wondering...

Enjoy!

My mistake, high idle would definetely help out with power drawing accessories.

I have a 2002 7.3L so I can't compare to your '99. but the 140 tune on my truck is like a trail of black smoke as long as the eye can see.

i haev been anticipating the 140 smoke for months i dont think this is gonna stop me now unless of course it is meannigless on my early 99

DANG, why did i have to get the early 99, it will jsut be more ex*****ve next summer when i upgrade injectors, turbo, and HPOP....or can my HPOP support stage II singles?

I had the edge juice with attitude and a Diablo programmer. The difference is night and day, I get tons of smoke in the 80 and the 120 setting, more in the 120 settting. But not much of a performance diff. Someone posted that Jody has fine tuned the 80e to closer to 90-100 hp and that is why there isn't much of a difference. The dp way out performs the stuff I had before. As far as 140s get it, its only another 45 but when you do HPOP and injectors etc. Jody will have to re-tune you chip anyway to match up with those non stock items. There is no comparison to the Dp and the stuff I used to have
