1995 E250 4.9L Overheating NEED advice
I need advice My van normally runs @210 deg (in AZ)Have gauge installed When I get on a long hill it will go up to 250deg I've had the radiator repaired and rodded replaced the clutch fan and have no leaks Whats next??

Check your oil right away, then I'd get a flush kit for the engine block and replace the thermostat (for 6-8$, just replace). Also make sure your antifreeze is a 50-50 mixture. After that, watch your rpms on the hills to make sure your transmision isn't missing a shift.

Since you have done the radiator. Now check the engine ignition timing if too far advanced will cause overheating. Relace the thermostat and check for air leaks on the in-take side.

1 bottle of Redline Water Wetter to the 50/50 mix.
Most importantly, make sure some goofball shop (and there are tons of them out there) didn't replace the mix with straight antifreeze - I've met too many 'professional' mechanics who do that, and would always suspect it if I didn't witness them filling the radiator myself.

Here's some more to add on for the coolant mix:
Don't use tap water. It's best to use deionized water...(usually tough to buy readily) -buy distilled water from the grocery store. Tap can have a lot of minerals in it & that's not the best for your radiator over time.

1995 E250 4.9L Overheating NEED advice
DON'T RUN 50/50! Especialy in these 4.9L's! I run 10/90 yes 10% coolant...I'm in Cali so the weather is prety similar to where you are...it will run a lot cooler the less coolant you have in there...but this time of year you should be running 20/80-10/90..when the weather starts getting cooler out-side(winter) I'll go down to 40/60. 50/50 is just a average you should run across the US...but like me in Cali it doesn't snow where I am so i won't have to worry about it freezing.Water Wetter by Redline is a great product!

Wow, he's in Arizona! I wish I would have seen that when I read it the first time.
I agree to just avoid the 50/50 mix then. Usually it's an OK mix for states that get colder and warmer, and it works for the many people (unlike SPROCKET) who don't (or don't want to) flush out or change their coolant levels twice a year. Heck, most people's cooling systems don't get flushed out or changed for years at a time.
Nonetheless, in a warmer state like Arizona, ~10% anti-freeze, ~90% water, and 1 bottle of Water Wetter is how I'd go.
I know of people who only use Water Wetter and distilled water, but that's for vehicles that the owner knows will probably not see freezing temperatures (warm-state cars (but some of these will see freezing temps. anyway), race cars, race motorcycles).
