AIS filter

So I recently installed the AIS filter and box. Seems a much better design over the old one and I see zero dust in the upper filter box. This is good. However I drove the pickup on about a 2000 mile trip pulling a light load(around 5000 lbs) and when I got home the filterminder thing was about half way up. What gives with this? Is the AIS not getting the engine enough air? The filter is brand new and is not dirty, I checked as soon as I saw that. Any thoughts?

I have heard these units without the fender sleeve will suck them in. and if your truck has a chip it will do it for sure.

Yes I do have a chip. So I suppose that would explain it. Is it short of air?

I had the same experience about two years ago, but found a solution (at least for me ). Read this thread about the AIS and filterminder.

So if I do the zoodad mod, will this cause all kinds of bugs and water to end up in my filter? I saw pictures of how it was done, but I get some bugs the way it is right now.
