Thumbs up Ford AIS

I have a 2000 ford f250 4x4 7.3 6spd! I currently have a airaid intake on it which is a piece of crap!!! I live and work on a ranch which is a desert where sand, dirt, and debris is always flying! I am wanting to get the ford AIS kit for my truck?? I want to buy the foam sealer and cut the whole in the AIS box for more air flow!!! What do you all think about that????? Also one more thing i have found a another cold air enhancer to add to the AIS kit it is call the Preadator Air Fury it sales on summit racing it requires you to cut a hole in the radiator support and it comes with a screen and a paper filter element it claims to drop egts add more air flow it just sounds magical!!! Does anyone out there have this on thier 7.3 would you reccomend adding this to my ais kit????????? Please give me your feedback thoughts and opinions!!!
Thankyou
Luke

See post #6 on this thread...

https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/670724-which-air-filter.html

... for links to most of the air filter threads for the past 6 months.

I'm not in favor of feeding air through the fender skirt. There were too many issues with water, mud, and snow when Ford came out with that approach on the early 99 trucks, and they quickly changed the design to a front entry feed.

You don't need to buy any special kits to do a front entry through the radiator shroud. Read the links I gave, they have many pics of how to do what's called the Zoodad mod!

I do not have the fender sleave, cause I didnt' want to cut any holes in my brand new AIS. I do have the fury and it seems to work fine. it funels the air right up there. a bit cleaner than just having holes. and helps with the bugs. I did it have not thought twice about it. seems to work fine. my .02

I am in about the worse possible dust conditions in the desert of Nevada...do the AIS, but instead of the fender hole (which your front tire will send loads of dust into), do the zoodad mod from the front of the truck for more air to the AIS airbox.

Hey Neal,

What part of Nevada are you located? I was raised in NV, and have been to, worked, or hunted out of every town in the state at one time or another.
