Has anyone here ever used Schaeffer’s synthetic motor oils, and if so,what was your thought about it?I have a chance to get 5 cases of it free, but i have never used it.Any thoughts on it?Or has anyone heard the pros and cons of it?
Never used it personally but it is local legend at BITOG so unless its 200,000 years old or something like that I would say for free is one hell of a price.
I have used it and thought it was a good oil.If you are getting it for free I would use it and maybe you will become a believer. The only problem is trying to find where to buy it.
There are several Schaeffer Oil reps at the oil guy site. I have bought the Schaeffer Neutra 131 which is a fuel system treatment that can also be run in the crankcase in small doses for cleaning. Might find Schaeffer Oil at a truck stop or other trucking facility.
I have never tried it due to the fact that it can only be ordered in bulk and I dont have room to store oil in bulk. Free is the right price, now days any kind of oil on the market cant hurt, so like a previous poster pointed out, unless it is really really really really really really really old, go for it.
I've used their Supreme Blend 5W-30 for years and had UOA's done and it's been a real good oil. I've run a 2002 Explorer to 10,000 OCI's and the UOA's have shown real good wear. I agree that getting it is not the most convenient. I've been ordering it from a shop in Arkansas that use to be a sponsor on BITOG. At the time it was less expensive than Mobil 1 at Wallyworld, even with the shipping costs. I bought enough so I've not ordered any in a while. So I don't know how the pricing fairs today.
