just a quick question, probably a simple one, i want to install a tach on my 95 f150 5.0l 4wd. i dont have one yet but i was wandering if it was difficult to install? anyone insall one? good place to get one? thanks for any help.
I installed one on my 95 the only problem I had was finding power and lighting wires with that huge aluminum steering column support covering all the wires.
Red = power, use a test light to find a fuse that has power only when the key is turned to on, strip the end of your power wire and wrap it around one prong of the fuse, and pop the fuse back in.
Black = Ground, find a bolt under the dash, crimp a eyelet on the wire and ground it to something metal.
Green = tach signal, this wire connects to the negative side of the coil, I used the male end of a quick connect, I just pushed it in place besides the factory green wire running into the coil, that way I didn't need to cut the factory wire.
White = power for the tach's back lighting, I used a scotch lock to connect this wire to the headlight power wire on the headlight switch.
I used a 5.5 inch sunpro super tach, got it at carquest for about 23 bucks.
I used a large hose clamp to hold the tach to the steering coloum, I spray painted the clamp black to match the coloum.

Hit up Ebay or the junkyard for a factory tach gauge cluster from the same year as your truck- direct drop in, will probably take you all of an hour. Just make sure to swap out the speedo so you still have the correct mileage. Check out this link- https://www.ford-trucks.com/article/...Or_Bronco.html
