Welcome to FTE, most guys here aren't going to part with their extra TPS if they have one but there are other things that may get you going again. BTW: It's called an Accelerator Pedal (AP) sensor. If you ask a parts dealer for a TPS you'll get the wrong one. Click the link in my signature for part numbers.
yea im sure i need it. when i drive it it the check engine light comes on and it go to idle no mater how much i hit the gas. i took it to a diesel shop and they said i needed 1. so i called ford ans they said it came with the pedal, and could not just get the sensor, and it was goin to be like $700. and thats y id like to find a used one. so i called some junkyards round here and noone had any. and thanks for the info too
Yep, they are expensive from the dealer. They are the only game in town for a complete assy. MOst junk yards know how much thet cost and will soak you too.
There is just a sensor for replacement but I havn't heard of anyone that has made it work. Wish I had better news for you. It's about $45
STANDARD MOTOR PRODUCTS Part # TH35
DORMAN Part # 699200
BTW: There are 2 sensors on the accelerator IVS (Idle validation sensor) is the other one.
Take a look at the connectors for bent or pushed in pins. The side to side movement will cause it to act up too, as explained in the link I gave you.
check here and the tds classifieds for a used pedal. i bought a spare off there a year or two bakc for 80 bucks to keep behind the seat. i sold it though sorry.
also the 96+ pedal will work on your truck and its a lot cheaper than your year. its like 150 iirc. good luck
ok i called a few people i know and found one in FL at a dealer. i got the pedal and everythign for just over $200 with shipping. they marked it down 50% off of the price they payed for it. i think i got off good on that ****!
OK I am new to this diesel deal,When I am out in the field it is hard to idle along or feather the pedal. Is this a different problem than what this thread is about? Thanks Upper
