The HX mod will help on the oil side due to the firing order of the motor.
But will not completly cure crackel. Crackel comes mostly from air.
Most OBS dont sence this unless its a cali truck.
You will get the crackel with the split injector. And its elevated with tunes.
If you have crackel. Clean the return screen and the fuel restrictor.
i think he is referring to the diesel cackle caused by the combustion process. and he wants it to quiet down as teh duramx sounds. you cant get the stroker that quiet, its not in the design. the heue's cant get that quiet.
I found the info on 7pont3.com. It adds fuel lines to your existing and helps to get fuel to the #8 injector which they say gets starved of fuel more and more air in that injector.
My van is a split inj motor. The motor is 1/3 in the cab. I can say at hwy cruise you donot even know its a diesel. The Goodrich tires have more noise.
The crackel thing started with the deadheaded fuel systems. The OBS cali trucks had it also. More like intermittent idle Knock or when rolling down to a stop. It will Knock.
but the single shot trucks dont have what this mod is trying to cure, after reading the mod it looks as though it does the same thing the hpx mod does but for the fuel side. any way you look at it, its a good idea to even out the pressures, pulses, and volume of fuel to the heads. same goes for the hpx mod, the 2 combined should show some sort of improvement on our trucks. probably wont be the same as on the split trucks but still an improvement
Yup coon that's the one. MADVAN that's what i would like to fix, it sounds like a knock at idle sometimes. I could be wrong about the air situation though guys.
