You might give these guys a try www.directfordparts.com . They are a site sponsor and Mike or any of the guys are very helpful in finding parts a usually cheaper than local dealers. If you can't find it on there site, drop them an email with your VIN and the best description of what you want and they will find it. If they have any questions about what you need, they will contact you back and help you figure it out. He (Mike La Dow) sent me some parts diagrams to help me figure out what pieces I needed.
Most times the numbers on the Ford parts are engineering numbers, not the actual part number. Found that out working in Ford parts. Can be very frustrating when you think that you have the part no. when you go to the dealer and it doesn't match. A Ford "better idea". I don't know if this applies to Navistar though.
Just did one..If you need the numbers, I can post it from the box...
You better be sitting down when you hear the price...
~$600 bucks....
Might want to splice yours..
PLEASE DO!!!(post the numbers)
did you notice the title of the subject?....well,.. dealer cant find butt-connectors EITHER!
ford DOES make connector pig tails...... "if i cut it off and bring it in they may be able to match it up and order one".......(insane)what if you CAN'T match it up? at least at this point it still runs....
Chuck, no problem, this is the whole wiring harnes for the engine, includes drivers side valve electrical connector then routes to all engine sensors, injector wiring, glow plug, alternator and even comes with the glow plug relays(but for $547 it better) list is $946...Oouch..
Hope this works for you..
BTW..No butt connectors should use solder and waterproof heatshrink, I use the heat shrink with the sealer in it..
Chuck i got it from Powerstrokeshop.com, talk to Ben..I had it on my doorstep in 4 days...
ive done both the engine bay harness (800 bucks) and the sensor harness (400 bucks) both from trade motion. these harnesses an very option and vehicle config specific so sit down with a parts man starting with one of the above numbers and make sure you get the right one. The guy from trade motion stayed on the phone with me for an hour to make sure i got the right one. All in all not to bad a job about 2 hours on the sensor harness.
ok--there is an ad site on the 7point3 website that i was able to find harness pigtails. ordered them, and i've had them in my hot little hands for a couple months now
business has been busy so far this year(good!) and also trying to finish up the boat..
i've been kinda focused on that for a few months---home time has been a little limited lately.
but thought you guys might want to know about those pigtails for repairing instead of replacing the entire harness.....
i'll go there and try to find the direct link
