2000 Excursion Heated Seat Problem

Hey all, Well I've been putting it off all summer, but now my wifes on my back full time to fix the heated drivers seat on our excursion. Passanger seat works just fine but the drivers seat just don't. Can anyone direct me on what would fail in the seat and how to fix it. Thanks for your help.

subcribing to this thread - I have the same issue. Ive heard it brought up before, but without definitive conclusions... hopefully this will be different :-)

check out the plugs under the seat, as I found if they are bumped, the seat controles for adjustment will not work. Sometimes the heated seat will not work also. Good luck

Check the plugs and use a DVOM to check for continuity. If not, there is your problem. Somewhere between the wire and the pad, there is a break.

OK, the little indicator light lights up, but no heat. Now the passenger seat is doint he same thing

. Anybody know which pins to check for continuity with a multi-meter? There are 2 connectors, but I have no idea which one's which and stuff.

And how much do new heating elements cost anyway?
