Power Seat Issues

I bought my 03 Excursion with inop driver's power seat and it is just my luck it is all the way forward and I'm 6'4". The power seat and power lumber buttons don't work but the seat heat button does. The passenger power seat works in all directions. The power adjusting gas and brake pedals do not work also. When I had the truck in Ford they did a quick diagnosis and said there was no power at the seat switches so they wanted to start with the power seat module but said the motors might also be bad and quoted $500 just to replace the module. I had the truck in a diesel performance shop to bullet proof it and he thought that since it was both the power seat and pedals inop that could possibly be just the module. If it is just the module (he quoted $200 part) I would replace it but if it is the motors I would just replace the whole lower seat since the leather has wear marks (cracks) in it that I would want addressed and I got a quote for $600 for everything refurbished shipping incl.

You could get you hands on a schematics and do a
bit of probing to see if you can find the issue.

First thing is to check the fuses with a meter.
The eye ball test can miss a bad fuse. Then
look for unplugged/cut wires. The last step is
to disconnect the motors and apply 12V to see if they
work.

From you saying module I take it you have the memory
function for the seat and peddles. If bypassing everything
and the motors work that leaves you with switches, wiring
and the module.

If the passenger seat has its own module try swapping them around.

The Op has not answered back yet but being an Excursion I bet
he has the memory function. I had that in a 2001 Explore and it
is only for the driver side seat.
The way it works is the two remotes have an identify that is linked to
a seat and peddle location. When you hit remote "A" your seat and
peddle move to the "A" position. The other remote will do the "B".
Comes in really handy if someone else drives not and then and
moves the seat and peddles.

Yes it has memory functions so I will start with the fuses to be safe (dealership checked) then probably the module from what others has been saying. Anything beyond that will be the shop. Thanks everyone!

Sorry for the late response but my truck had other issues mainly rear AC plus recurring problems with the seat repair. It has been at Ford 3 times and the front seat finally works. The first time I picked it up the power seat worked but not the pedals or heat or memory function. When I took it back just to get the heated seats working the receipt (no charge) stated wrong module and last night I checked and all functions work. It was probably just that module all the time but they checked for voltages at most/all switches and over diagnosed it if you asked me but the tech said he wanted to rule out all other issues. I complained and the service writer is now gone so I think they were doing some shananagins.
