It seems as this is a popular topic, especially for the 7.3. I have done a search and am trying to find the location of this sensor on a 6.0 powerstroke. Possibly a picture would be great if anyone can help. Thanks

Note cam position sensors rarely fail in the 6.0 (unlike the 7.3 which goes through them like diesel fuel), make sure your really have a CMP sensor failure.
Just doing research mostly on this website, I guessed this was the sensor that was at fault. The truck stalled out while driving a few times and sometimes the rpms fluctuate or surge for a brief second while driving. It also isn't causing a code.
Any Ideas or suggestions would be helpful.
Thanks Blackhat620 for this link, it has a ton of useful info for a newbie to the diesel world.
My truck is a bone stock 2004 with 41000 miles. Symptoms have only hapened a few times with the truck stalling while driving and the rpm's surging while driving. I noticed the rpm's surge first while the cruise was set, but have noticed it since then without cruise. As I stated before it has only happened a few times, but i'm afraid it is not going to start back up one of these times. These things never break down when it is convenientThanks

Since there is surging involved, it could be a bad ICP sensor (fairly common) or a problem with the HPOP.
Do you know when your engine or truck was manufactured?
