I posted a few day ago and got 1 response in the form of a question. https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/8...g-problem.html
Now the SES light came on and got a 1211 code. After more research it sounds like an ICP sensor is the suspect. I was just wondering if there was a way to check it. It almost didn't start yesterday and I'll be taking it to the dealer to get raped, but I'm out of choices now.
It's not my everyday driver but when used I have the family on board camping or boating and I can't afford to be stuck on the side of the road with them.
2cents....
My IcP sensor had oil leaking into the connection. Easy to see ,Think I paid about $185. for the sensor, installed it myself 10 minutes.
I figure the stealership will charge about $200 for a diagnosis, $185. for sensor and $100. labor ,and if I was wrong I'd have a new ICP anyway. I was right.-Saved $300.

Sorry you didn't get more response. Did the SES light come on while cranking or hard pulling? The ICP could well be the culprit, but the IPR is also a good possiblity. Look under the plug and if you see oil, start there. Unplugging it to see if it helps start better don't always works, but when it does, it does point to the ICP.
Did you truck do ok on your trip, after the service it had? Reason I ask is some have noticed problems develop after the new CPS was installed. If it ran ok for 2500 miles before problems started, then it probably is something else.
Ebay sometimes has the ICP for a decent price, and our on ED, partsguyed, will get you the best price possible on a new one.
The SES light came on toward the end of the trip. The manual said it was ok to drive as long as the SES light was not flashing and the truck ran ok. It ran fine and didn't become hard to start utill a day after I got home. This truck would sit for a month or two and just fire up like it was new!
It now cranks until the starter is maxed out! I pump the pedal a couple times while cranking, let off the starter and it reluctantly starts. It runs ok afterwards. It starts hard when first started for the day but once warmed up it takes a couple of tries.
On the back of the IPR is a small tin nut. Check and make sure it's on there and tight. They have been known to get loose or fall off and cause similar problems.
