I wasn't thinking about the newer article. That's what you get when I jump between forums.
Been there done that got the shirt.
Now i do see a possible mod potential by running the new HESF internal filter in Pre 08 Job#2 Torqueshift SD and still maintiaining the external bypass filtration. As long as the HESF filter is not to restrictive this could be a good upgrade. I do not believe the pump was changed in the 08 Job#2 Torqueshift SD, so i don't see a flow problem with this, but i will have to dig deeper into this matter to confirm that.
Easy, boys. I am not doing the flush at this time I am only changing the 8 qts/ 2 filters. I meant "read" as in past tense- I did read the tech article and just wanted to know about the filters' removal, which I did NOT see discussed. I didn't want to drain the fluid, remove the pan and then find I need one of those Ford specialty tools to complete the job. Thanks for all the info and sorry if I started any trouble.

No trouble started, just clarifying information so that no one gets confused.
