78 racetrack trim
Anybody have suggestions / experience on trying to restore the lower racetrack trim on a 73-79 truck? How did you polish it? Did you have to repaint the black stripe inside the trim? How did you do it?

The 'bright' trim used on the racetrack trim is anodized. You will never be able to polish out the cloudiness or restore the shine using conventional tools. Only a plating shop has the equipment necessary to strip and re anodize the trim strips.
I believe the black paint is an enamel. Once restored, you need to keep a good sealant on the trim to protect it from the elements.
Replacement trim is available on the market but it is expensive.
