Another F350 front bumper question

In a previous post i discussed changing a chrome theme over to a black theme. Here is my newest idea....I have wanted to buy Xenon's front body kit bumper, but its way over priced and i am nervous to put a piece of plastic on the front bumper just for a snowbank to crack it. So I have this crazy idea. In that link abve, the first bumper, the all chrome plain one...I want to bring it to my body shop and have theme paint that my black paint color, and that way it will look like a body kit bumper, give me my black theme, and it will be way more durable and look way better...What you guys think? You think they could paint over chrome?

good point...My body shop has this rhino liner material that they do a good job mixing with their finish paint, so it looks a tad rough up close, but it be garantee tuff for life if i got it put on.
