Racetrack trim

Has anyone purchased the Dennis Carpenter racetrack trim for a 73-79 short box? I have one piece that does not fit correctly on the right side of the box, the lower narrow racetrack trim piece that goes up and over the wheel well opening. The lower bend in front of the wheel well opening does not fit nicely against the box side. Anyone have similar issues? The left side fits beautifully, but not the right side.
Thanks,
Eric

I would call Dennis Carpenter and tell them of your problem.
Did you check to see if your fender has been repaired at some time in the past.

I would also call them and just return that one piece for an exchange and go from there. It may just be a defective piece. I'm eventually going to get a set from them also.

Thanks for the responces guys. I actually called DC a few days ago and told them of the problem....not much responce from them. So I ordered another piece and received it yesterday......Guess what..............exact same problem. However, this piece is in even worse shape than the first one. The anodizing has deep marks / scratches in it and it's not from shipping damage. The part was made like this.. Another part that slipped through DC quality control. ;( Defiinitly not worth $125. Guess I'll call them tomorrow again....may have to bitch a little louder this time.
The box bedside panel is flat as the floor. My body guy is super particular. You can just look at the molding and see that it is a crappy job of forming the bend / trim. The left side fits absolutely beautiful.
Bucks77 - hope the trim for the long bed is shaped much better than the short box trim.

I have had trouble with their customer service. They kept telling me that they would have someone call me but never did. Took about a month of calling every two or three days before I actually got talk to someone who could make a decision. Then they wonted me to pay the freight to send the defective part back to them. That started another argument.
When you are paying hundreds of dollars for premium parts, this is a bunch of BS

Its dissapointing to hear of this kind of customer service. It is apparant that DC IS the source for quality products for our dents. It is a shame to hear how something like customers service knocks them down to where you are leary to deal with them.

Ok, so we know that DC customer support is below par and sometimes even their parts are not quite perfect. What I want to know is.....has anybody else purchased the short bed racetrack trim and had or is having the same issues with fitment that I'm experiencing? If so, what did you do to fix the problem?
