Does any1 know of a good engine flush treatment type of stuff. Something that some1 on here has used before with success and no harm done to the engine
Personally, I usually just dump a quart of trans fluid in my crankcase a day or so before I plan to do an oil change. Trans fluid is loaded with detergents and does a pretty good job of keeping an engine clean.
(it should be noted that auto trans fluid is basically a 5-7 wt oil loaded with detergents and anti foaming agents, along with some other stuff. I've been doing this with all my vehicles regularly for 30 years and never had a negative result.)
If there's a lot of sludge or carbon in an engine I'd just as soon have it stay put and not break off in chunks. I just maintain my regular oil change interval. If an engine needs to be cleaned I'll take it apart and see to it that all the bad stuff is removed and not just moved around. I've taken apart engines that had A LOT of coke/carbon in them. Other than the brushing, scraping, and picking to get it out I couln't see where it did any harm.

that's the great thing about ARX, according to many real world uses (along with research of course), it slowly breaks it up, not in chunks like a flush.
I've used it on 3 vechicles and notice very very tiny bits of (possible) sludge on my dipstick....and then i drain it away.
