whats up everyone! i've got a friend of a friend that wants to race me on a quater mile he has a 2004 dodge ram 1500 hemi cc 4x4 auto, i've got a 2006 f350 6.0psd auto cc 4x4 the only thing that worrys me is the weight difference, power to power i know i can take him, whats everyones input, has anyone ever did this?
His truck is a lot lighter. Like, 1000-1500 pounds lighter.
If you're running a stock 6.0 and 3.73 gears he'll probably take you in the quarter mile. He'll jump out to an early lead, you'll be pulling on him at the line but he'll still have about 2 lengths on you.
A better race would be quarter mile towing 5000 pounds.
I've got a friend with a 1500 hemi...I've got a 05 6.0 and we use to race alot, and I would kill him, of course at the time I was running a SCMT...But the distance I was beating him by I think you could take him stock.
He sold the Dodge and got an 04 6.0 and he said it feels faster...but don't know for a fact...
truck trend has the dodge tested at 0-60 in 7.7 sec and a 1/4 mile in 15.6 sec. and the ford at 0-60 in 8.5 sec and 1/4 mile in 16.2 sec. so stock you will probably get beat
Yeah, I say go for it as well. It would be better if you had the SCT as Pocket mentioned, but it will be interesting anyway. Heck, I've beaten them in my "slow" 7.3L.
Just this morning I roasted a 3500 CTD -- I don't think he liked being behind me in traffic, so he whipped around me and cut me off. Once we got out of it, I got in front of him, gave him a windshield full of soot, and he could never catch up.
Another Hemi guy that wants to race... these guys are all the same. They all think they have a hot rod. Don't do it, it's not a fair comparison. If you two want to compare your trucks, then why don't you each hook up 10,000 lbs behind you and then go at it. That'll teach him to keep his mouth shut! Go get 'em!
I would put 10,00lbs behind the trucks and then race, because if you go to pickuptrucks.com and check the shoot out with Ford and Chevy and Dodge the Hemi was getting beat buy just the Ford V10 with out any problem so I would think that would be more fare.
i say Giver theres only 1 way to find out i think the 6.0 could do er jst wen u pull up 2 him roll down ur window and ask if that things got a hemi lol
Hemis are dogs, plain and simple, just like the 360 they replaced.
Kick his ****.
where are you getting your information from? because other than the nissan titan a dodge hemi will beat any other stock pick up out there..hands down. i am not a dodge fan in fact i have owned only fords for my 41 years but facts are facts
