I saw it before in here

Hey guys,
I saw a thread like this before and I apologize for duplicating but I can not find it anymore. I ran some all fuel system cleaner through my truck (2001) and cleaned the K&N along with shooting some MAF cleaner on the MAF. Here is where i saw this before. My truck now sounds like it has a big cam in it when idling (honestly sounds pretty cool with all the exhaust work I have done) and the SES light is on. I took it down to Auto Zone and had them read the code it came up as the MAF or vacuum hose leak, I think i remeber something about left bank lean as well. I will have them pull the code again and I will post it tomorrow. They cleared the code for me and after a day it has come back on. Now it doesn't have big the lopey sound to it at idle but it does idle high now and the revs don't fall as quick as before when in Drive. Like I said I know I saw a simlar post to this but I can't find it anymore. You guys have been helpful in the past and looking for help again. Thanks in advance.

Could it be you over oiled the KN and the MAF is getting oil on it as the air is sucked through the filter, past the MAF on its way to the intake? Just a thought of a common mistake with the reusable filters.

I ALWAYS take my MAF sensor completely off the intake for cleaning. There are several wires that need many direct shots with the cleaner to clean them properly. I use CRC MAF cleaner.

The MAF is probably not your problem though.

As SLE said I would check the elbow.

I believe it is on the passenger side of the throttle body.

An 01 doesnt have that pesky elbow. You probably got too much oil on the k&n, making the maf dirty.

Ok, so I just bought a used truck. My first Ford, switched from Dodge 1500 CrewCab 4.7 4.2 20" wheels 3.92 gears, to a F350 CrewCab 4x4 V10 18" wheels with 4.10 gears. It has 41000 miles. How often do you clean he MAF sensor and what other V10 maint tips can you give.

Welcome to FTE and the V10 forum the original home of BSEG

Start your own "thread" and let us know what year and some more info on you and what your intended usage of the truck is

This forum specifically is for the motor--- but there are a lot of us willing to expand to all things power-train and maintenance related.

Again welcome but don't "piggy back".... we get side tracked on your question and the fellow above gets lost in the multiple questions
