I never fixed one on a car before. Best bet is to go to a parts store and pick up either a Haynes or a Chiltons manual. Either one should have the procedure in it.
If you're feeling brave, crawl under the car and follow the shifter (column or floor shift?) linkage until you find a sensor with a lever attached to the linkage and an electrical plug. Mine is on the side of the transmission, but I honestly have no idea where yours might be located.
