im not sure where im supposed to be. but if someone can redirect me, that would be great, or just help me all together...
im having a problem with my car to sum it up (so i dont waste my time if im not where i need to be,...) foot on gas, car no go, rpm's flying!!! this is not good. is it the EGR control valve module??? thats what mechanic said...
happens when im driving. i'll stop for traffic and when i go to go again, pressing on gas petal, rpm's go way up but car doesn't move. have to put it in park, then in drive. ususally that gets it going. if not, i have to turn car off and just restart it. then it will go.
Sounds like the old tranny needs some attention.
Like bigrigfixer said, check the fluid for level and condition, all in all the tranny might/will need some work done to it.
So the problem happened AFTER the trans flush? Or before, and the flush didn't help?
Maybe recheck the fluid level. In a flush, they only put back in what they take out. If it's low to begin with, it'll be low afterwards. Unless you got a good technician who checks his work, it'll most likely be still low.
what do i do about the shop that put a new egr in then?
problem was before the flush, and still is a problem.
as for the trans flush itself regarding fluid, i did it myself, so i put in 4 quarts and checked it many many many times putting in more as needed till it was in the right area on the stick.
yep. did the filter too. jacked the car up, got under it took the pan off let the fluid out, took the filter out, put new one it, put pan back on with all 19 screws. put fluid back in and checked the level. after 8 hours, yes it took me 8 hours before it was perfect and i was satisfied.

I hate to break this to you, but that only changes about 1/4 of the transmission fluid. There's a lot of fluid in the torque converter and in the rest of the tranny that doesn't get changed when you do it this way.
Also, I think you'd know it if the tranny was slipping that badly, then engine would be revving like that *all* the time, not just part of the time.
To me, it sounds like the MLPS is bad. It's a sensor that tells the transmission what the shift lever says. Sometimes it thinks the tranny is in neutral but it's really not. When you put it into park and then back to drive, it resets it so it knows to be in drive again.
I really would hold off on taking it to a tranny shop. That will most likely cost you a lot of money no matter what.
