Racer X, I know you in the other forum and I have you in a very good concept and I want to tell you welcome to FTE but I was wondering why only 11 post if you are here since Nov 2006
Glad to see you here, Im sure you are going to give a lot of good things to this also great forum.
Time mostly. Many irons in the fire right now mate.
The problem has nothing to do with the way you modded your VB. Nor can it fix it.
What Iam getting at is as you firm up the OD shiftpoint this TC issue is elevated. Alot is going on during the shift. Timing is important. (4th shift,TC, and coast clutch).
This bump shift makes heat and adds wear to the TC clutch.
This is one of the reasons ford went to PWM. It hides the problem. Besides that it helps keep the TC clutch lining together.
If you manually engauge your OD for the shift you will see that it will not bump shift.
Cuda
Its a digital control. Does not change line pressures.

O.K. so if I always start out not in OD and then push the OD button when I want to shift to OD that will cure the slip/bump shift? Is this o.k. to do so many times with the OD button?
i am still awaiting more info and costs for your pretty little box. it looks like you have 2 or 3 wires that tie into the solonoid body and an external connector....looks very much like a banks transcommand from the wiring standpoint. i like the lable though, its my favorite part so far
It fixed my issues. Iam just a happy test dummy with loose lips i guess. I doubt iam the only one that has one.
I have had this complaint for years.
All asked of me was to add it to my sig. Maybe i went to far.(sig thing)
So is it a Trans command unit or what? I'm interrested in solving this problem on my truck, but I gota know whats goin on with it? Can you guys give any more details? I'm feeling left out here, come on let it out, so we can all understand

I feel your pain. You are going to get a few guys here that will tell you to dump the gasser (460) and get a diesel. This is a diesel forum.
Ford should have fixed it. It a autotrans why should we have to manually shift it into OD every time to extend its life. If i wanted to shift it i would have gotten a manual box. Not even any of the big trans builders have addressed this issue. That shiftpoint really $ucks bigtime when towing.
i loved my 460 truck. it would walk circles around my stroker. my avg was 13 unloaded and 10 towing. i still have the homemade intake set-up, it worked excellent along with the exhaust to boost the mileage.
sounds like you trans is on its last leg, rebuild before it goes boom, you can probably get away with clutches, steels and seals for under 120 bucks if you do it yourself
the bumop shift is only existant in my truck on light throttle. when i am full throttle or towing a heavy load it shifts as madvans video does. i will try to get some more videos of the shifting when it stops pouring.
i too am still curious to learn more about "The Cure" and where to get it, how much, and what exactly it does
