Greetings All
I would appreciate some advice/information form the list on injector cross reference. I am working on a LONG list of problems that I inherited from the P.O. and after pulling and inspecting one injector it looks like a new set would be a good idea.
The engine currently has a set of injectors stamped Lucas # "LJC 6760301 ASM". I have no way of knowing how this cross references to any of the coding that I have seen noted on this list, usually an alhpa code A thru D as I recall.
So, my question for today is: If I were to order a set of Delphi injectors, how would I know what code to order?
Thanks in advance.
Yup, this is exactly the site that I have been looking at. Does this "Injector, Delphi, NEW code letter [a,b,bb,c,d]" mean that their part number "CAV6760301" covers all of the letter codes?
If so, I'm all over it.
Thanks
Ya know, the more I look around the more I'm wondering where the P.O., or more accuratly his mechanic, would have found Lucas injectors for this motor. I serched this forum and I searched Google and I find exactly ZERO listings for Lucas injectors for Ford Diesel Engines.
So, since the truck did run, and it ran pretty well after it got started, if I change the injectors am I looking at resetting the I.P. as well?
My plan is to solve the obvious problems and then start the Crossbones2 method of measuring the glow plugs for final tuning, but the engine is going to have to start to get to that point.
Any information or advice is appreciated.
Lucas was a common manufacturer, I have a set of them in the garage.
OK, so if I go to MWFI and order a set of Delphi's to replace the Lucas, is it reasonable to think that the I.P. will be close enough to restart the engine and begin working a better tune set up?
Thanks Dave.
ron I got mine from dieselcare.com nib delphi's code BB for $17 each complete with copper washers & new O-rings.
That sounds like a good price, did you replace injectors that were marked as 'BB'?
That's the question that I don't have an answer to yet, mine are the old style Lucas injectors, so I'm not experienced enough to know what alpha code would be the correct replacement.
