Quick question about my locking hubs.

I know I'm taking advantage here, but I don't have time or the ability to pull the hubs apart and count splines. When I purchased the truck I was told the internals were out of the passenger side hub because they were in rough shape and the shop that serviced the front axle didn't want them scoring the hub. I know I'll lose my man card for not just installing manual locking Warn hubs but I found a set of factory autos out of a Bronco that might work but I don't even know the cross reference of parts for this. Will a 1996 bronco auto locking hub fit a 1997 F250HD? I've got 8hrs till the listing ends. Help?

Roger that. Mines a Dana Spicer 50, right? 30 spline sound right? I promise I'll pull it and learn more about it when I've got time. I may just need 4wd instead of 3 soon, lol. Guess I'll pick up the manual lockers then, really like not having to get out in the mud to shift to 4X4 but these hubs are hard to find.

With the manuals, if you know you are going somewhere that might require 4WD, lock the hubs and leave the transfer case in 2WD. Then you just switch to 4WD when you need and you don't even have to get out of the truck. Then you unlock them when you are back to pavement.

By locking the hubs and leaving the t-case in 2wd your front drive shaft will spin when driving but will not recieve power to it when giving gas. The only down side to this is lower mpg's. But beats hopping in the mud to lock your hubs.

Alright thanks for the help guys, I'll install some new manual lockers and quit being lazy. I've had auto lockers on my last four 4X4's I guess I just got spoiled. I only use the 4X4 hunting, at the beach and at my river property pulling the Airstream back up the hill. Both I can lock them in ahead of time and shift in and out of 4wd till I'm ready to unlock and hit the highway. Again thanks!

Biggest advantage to manual is that you don't have to worry about pushing the button on the dash and having a hub not lock in, then decide to catch after you apply the go pedal, then destroy itself leaving you sitting waiting for the tow truck. Definitely puts a damper on your day when it happens.
