99 5.0 awd , when you stomp on the gas pedal, you get a hesitation , also has a slight miss at idle that I feel, has new plugs and wires, no change, also new fuel filter, any suggestions, thanks in advance

Go to Autozone and have them pull the codes for you - no use changing pieces blindly

did this just start or has it been happening for a long time? I would spend the dough and buy a code reader if your planning to keep it for a while.

Leave the engine off. Pull the intake tube off so you can see the throttle body butterfly. Stand there and have someone push the throttle to the floor. Is it opening all the way? If not, you may need to do the zip-tie mod...

Yes, even the 4.0's. On some of them, the throttle cable was not adjusted properly or would even stretch a little. This would cause you not to have full throttle; even when pressing the pedal to the floor.

What some would do it see where the butterfly was when the pedal was pressed to the floor. If it did not open all the way, you could pull the slack from the cable at the pedal and put 1 or 2 zip ties around the cable at the mounting plate to tighten it up and correct it.
